It All Comes Out in the Wash

Good morning, my Lovelies! The weekend is finally here and freedom is so damn close that it is filling my nostrils with a beautiful bouquet of peaceful relaxation. Does that make sense? I think it makes sense. What am I talking about? I'm going on a trip!

That's right! I leave tomorrow morning and I'm so ready - well, not packed ready because y'all should know that I do that shit last minute, but READY! Mentally, physically, emotionally? I couldn't be more ready. Here lately I've been feeling like someone threw me in the washing machine and hit spin. Yep! That's exactly what I've been doing. Spinning.

Every time I think I have something sorted with my job situation, a new aspect/possibility arises. At this point, all I know is that one way or another, at some time in the (hopefully) not too distant future, I will be back in the office that is closest to my home. I'm not sure if I'll still be doing my current duties, or new duties, or some crazy combination of old, current, and new duties. Are you confused yet? Well, I am.

And I bet I could confuse you some more. You see, I'm either going to be a part-time minion or a full-time supervisor. Maybe. Possibly. Again, we'll see what happens. But whichever scenario takes place, being able to be 10 minutes from home on a regular basis is going to make things so much better, and with any luck, some of that sanity that has slipped away from me over the past six months will slowly get settled back into place.

Anyway, I'm getting prepared to get on the road bright and early tomorrow morning. The truck has had an oil change and my fabulous mechanic, who has always taken such good care of me, has given "The Other Bitch" the once over to make sure she's road-ready. (Have I told y'all that's what I named my truck? For real. It is even registered with my service app that way.) I've updated my packing list, begun marking things off my "to do before I go" list, and am working on my trip plan. 

Trip plan? Yep! Normally, I would drive straight through - 900 miles in 14 hours, but as I told you in a previous blog, I'm determined to do some sightseeing this time. So I'm spending today (it's kinda quiet at work) doing some research and figuring out some of those stops I want to make. I'll take pictures, of course, because if the places that I've picked are as amazing as I think they are going to be, you guys won't want to miss out. So definitely be checking my Insta and maybe even my TikTok for some cool stuff.

I'm planning on seeing things, doing things, spending some time with family, and meeting up with friends, new and old. And yes, I plan on writing. I'm determined to finish my stand-alone while I'm gone. This book... Well, I can't tell y'all how amazing I think this book is going to be. I've poured every bit of my heart and soul into this one and I just have to get the remainder of the story out of my head. So, yes, writing will be a high priority.

Who knows? Maybe while I'm gone that spinning will finally stop and I'll come home with a whole new outlook on things.

This is my first blog of the new year and I would be remiss if I didn't take a moment to acknowledge everyone who started reading and following my blog over the past year.
