Consider Me
Good morning, my Lovelies, and happy Saturday! I hope you've had a good week and that you get the rest and relaxation you deserve this weekend. I've had another one of those "I have no idea what I want to talk about in my blog" kind of weeks. I wonder why there are times that this flows so easily and why there are times that I struggle to form a single thought? Whatever the reason, here I am struggling to find my topic.
Maybe I don't really need a topic? Maybe getting on here and rambling will somehow make my words form and my train of thought connect? Or not...as I sit and stare at the blinking cursor that is taunting me, laughing at me, knowing that my synapses aren't sparking yet this morning. No. I definitely need a topic. How about one we've visited before?
This week I made a post that was sparked by a conversation I had about my books. You see, I've been told several times now that there is too much sex in my books. Now, obviously, my writing and writing style isn't for everyone. I'm okay with that. As a friend pointed out, if someone feels there's too much sex in my books then they aren't my people. They aren't my target audience.
Personally, I don't feel there can be too much sex and/or sexual situations in a book and I know there's a large erotic romance following out there who agree wholeheartedly. I also know that there's a large group of people out there who have no idea that this genre is just what they are looking for. I mean some people have no idea it even exists! There's everything out there from romance to porn and I think my writing falls nicely between the two. You get a beautifully romantic story and a healthy dose of sexuality.
Take a good look at your love life, your sex life. Is it everything you want it to be? For me, reading a well-written erotic romance book is stimulating. It helps get me where I need to be to fulfill my mental, physical and emotional needs.
Had a rough week and looking for something to take your mind off the bullshit? Sex. Can't sleep because there is too much on your mind? Sex. Bored and looking for something fun to do? Sex. Horny? Sex. See where I'm going?
But sometimes getting ourselves in the right frame of mind for it can be a struggle. This is especially true for anyone who suffers, whatever the reasoning, from a lack of sex drive. And this, well, this is where erotic romance comes in.
While, yes, I'm still struggling to reach my target audience, I know they are out there and I know once I get a foothold in that arena that my audience will grow. It's only a matter of time. If you haven't given it a try yet, consider it. Consider giving your mind the chance to get lost in a charmingly romantic and sexually fulfilling story. And, as I'd love to be the one to entertain you...
Consider me.
