Conversation Over
Good morning, my Lovelies! Is the sun shining in your part of the world this morning? I hope so. If not, go out and make your own sunshine! No better way to do that than to offer someone a smile!
So, last week I had my blog prepared days in advance of its release. I was excited to be ahead of schedule for a change. This week? Yeah, not only am I not ahead, but I'm late! My apologies! It seems it has been one thing after another this week and I just haven't been able to get on track.
One instance of how things got off track for me this week is when my husband and I found ourselves with a rare few hours alone. Now...as it is most definitely a rare occurrence, we planned to take advantage of our time. Unfortunately, we were cockblocked by my father-in-law. (Damn it!)
Listen, one of the easiest ways to get on my bad side is to come in my house, uninvited, I might add, and start bitching at me over things I have no control over, nor want any control over. Let me explain.
My father-in-law is older and he grew up in a different time and, well, damn it, he is just racist. No sugar-coating it. It is awful! There have been so many instances over the years of him straight up being an asshole that I can't recount them all. Now don't get me wrong, he can be a likable enough person, but when it comes to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation/preference, and a multitude of other things, his attitude and beliefs are loathsome.
What happened? Well, believe it or not, JoJo Siwa'a appearance on Dancing with the Stars is what set him off. (Seriously! A television show!) You see, JoJo came out a while back, and whether it was the show's choice, her choice, or whatever the reason, she is dancing with another woman. This, in my FIL's eyes, is wrong. "It is a sin. They are going to hell. It makes no sense. It looks stupid." Yes, he said all these things to me. (And more, so much more!)
This man basically started preaching at me about the evils of this world all because there were two women dancing together on television. Y'all, it was all I could do not to lose my shit with him. Did he stop there? No! Oh, no, he did not. Before he was done he was bitching at me and the way I raise (or don't raise) my children. He demanded to know how my children felt about such matters and demanded to know why I wasn't teaching them that living like this is a sin.
Luckily for this man, my husband walked in the door from work just in the nick of time, and he didn't get an earful from me. Let me tell you, it was about to be very, very ugly.
You see, I don't care how people choose to live their life, what their sexual orientation is, what the color of their skin is, or where they are from. Just be a good person. Be kind, be caring, and share that kindness and caring with those around you. That's all.
Other than that? I don't give a fuck. Do you. Be you. Live your life and tell everyone else to fuck off. It is none of their business.
Also, both of my children have come out as gay. My oldest is non-binary and my youngest is bisexual. Now, does my FIL know any of this? No. Do my parents or other family members? No. Simply because - one: it shouldn't be a big deal and they shouldn't even have to "come out." And two: our family members would not react well, and my children just do not want to have to deal with the hell that would come about by sharing this information.
But, I digress. My point with telling you all of this was that my week has certainly not gone as planned. So I apologize for being late. Better late than never, right? Here's hoping that I'll be ahead of the game next week.
Quickly, for any of you who are Patrons, there is new content on my Patreon and it is steamy! I hope you enjoy the naughtiness!
