Glitter In The Air
Good afternoon, my Lovelies! It's Friday and I have so much on my mind that I don't know where to start. By the way, y'all can't give me crap over being a day late because I was traveling all damn day yesterday, and blogging while driving is frowned upon. That being said, just because I couldn't physically blog, doesn't mean that I wasn't having blog thoughts running through my head.
Last week's blog was a little heavy, understandably. So I wanted to make this one a little lighter, a little more fun, a little more...more. So as I was driving I got to thinking about firsts and those special moments in time that become etched into our brains, our hearts, our very souls. It is my most sincere hope that all of my readers have experienced something like this at least once throughout their lives. Have you ever felt this? Let me describe what I'm talking about...
Let's say you go on a date, whether that's the first, second, or tenth, and this happens: You look into each other's eyes and what you find there takes your breath, sends tingles down your spine, burns you with its intensity and makes you melt into a puddle of liquid desire begging to be consumed in long, slow sips. Then you kiss and the kiss is so sensual, so mind-blowing, that not only does your world go spinning out of control, but somehow, someway, in the midst of all that spinning, everything falls into place. And in that chaos of feelings you know, that person, that place, that moment, is what you've been looking for, what you've been needing, whether for a brief time, or a lifetime. You feel...everything.
That kind of moment is what I'm talking about. Those moments may be rare, but when they happen you never forget them. You never forget where you were at, what you were doing, but most of all you never forget how you felt. And if you're lucky, just thinking of that moment can send your body right back into the euphoria you felt, instantly arousing you.
Sensory memories are the best. Not only do you remember what you were feeling, touching, tasting, but sounds and smells. A song, an intake of breath, the scent of cologne, or a whiff of someone's shampoo, and you're instantly aroused. Simply amazing.
Lucky me, I get to use my incredibly dirty mind, overactive imagination, and way with words to tell you stories to add another element to those moments. You see, hopefully something I write will spark a memory for you, will take you back to your own moments in time.
Or...maybe something I write will cause you to acquire new moments. Whatever the case, I hope that my writing touches you and that you gain as much joy from reading it as I do from writing it.
Tomorrow starts a new year and with any luck, this will be the year that I can finally devote myself to my writing full-time. Writing makes me happy and hopefully, my writing makes you happy. Making you happy, makes me happy, and let's be honest - we can all use a little (or a lot) more happy in our lives.
If you haven't read one of my books (and you like dirty romance books) give it a try. I'll issue my standard warning: I don't hold back. I use foul language and I'm very descriptive in what I write - so if that's not your thing, or you're going to get offended, don't read it. But, as anyone who has read them will tell you, if you love a sweet romance story filled with spicy love scenes, then my books are right up your alley.
Oh! And don't forget that tomorrow is my drawing for signed copies of the first four books in the Cassidy Brothers series! Don't forget to enter the drawing by signing up for my mailing list. (Psst...just go to my LinkTree and click on the link!) Deadline is midnight tonight USA Eastern Standard Time!
