No One Gets Left Behind

Good afternoon, my Lovelies! I know I'm all kinds of late and wrong, but the past week has been unbelievably busy for me. What's happened? Well, there have been birthday celebrations, nights out with friends, work, of course, plus the release of my new book covers for the Cassidy Brothers series! (They are simply amazing!)  Those things alone have kept me hopping. Oh, did I forget to mention that my hometown was pretty much wiped off the map by a tornado? Yeah. That happened. So it's been a rollercoaster of a week for me! I hope your corner of the world has been much calmer and that you are healthy, wealthy, and wise!

So, let's revisit this tornado. First, all my family is well and I couldn't be more grateful. My niece's home was destroyed, her car smashed flat as a pancake, and her tractor caught fire, but they are uninjured and that's the most important part. The pictures I have seen are devastating and my heart is broken. To see buildings that I grew up in reduced to a pile of rubble, stacks of wood and bricks piled around like drunken Legos, is heart-wrenching, to say the least.

I ran wild on those streets growing up, shopped and worked in some of those buildings, and many of the businesses there were owned by people I grew up with and in families for too many generations to count. Mayfield is the epitome of "Small town, U.S.A." and the way the community has come together to help each other during this time is just another example of how close-knit, welcoming, and caring they are.

People have lost family members, homes, pets, businesses, but through it all, they have not lost faith in each other and in a higher power. I'm anxious to be home, to see my family and friends with my own eyes to make sure they are truly alright, but I'm not looking forward to seeing the catastrophic destruction that awaits me.

You see, no matter how far away I move, no matter where I go, Mayfield and the people who live there, will always be home.

I've had friends reach out to see what they could do to help my niece and her family and the donations that I've received to help get them through have been truly humbling. Thank you, again, to all who have been so kind, caring, and giving.

Now, another shameless plug for my books! What the hell are you waiting for? I promise you won't regret giving them a chance. Also...you're going to want to get the first three books read soon! Why? Because book four comes out on December 28th! Y'all need to catch up!

To my cover models- Joey, Michael & Scotty B: Y'all have been amazing and I can't thank you enough for all the shares you've made on social media! You guys rock!

Until next time, and as always,

Much love and affection, from me to you!
