Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'
Good morning, my Lovelies! Wow! This week has absolutely flown by in some ways and in others, it has dragged on and on. I apologize, but I hadn't even given my blog a thought until this morning. There's just been so much going on! Between work, and writing, and kids, and husband, and a sick cat, I've been going non-stop! And that's just the stuff local to me! We won't even touch on stuff globally! (Although, I do want to take a moment to say that my heart is breaking for the people of Ukraine right now and you all have my support!)
So, somewhere along the way this week, in the chaos of thoughts that I'm bombarded with daily (blessing or curse?), I had an odd musing. Is it just me, or does it seem like men and women are part of a cruel joke when we're talking about sex drive?
Ok, hear me out. Most men hit their sexual peak in their late teens/20's, right? And women, don't normally hit their peak until late 30's/40's, right? So many men in relationships tend to stray during this time period. I'm not saying all men, but I'm sure the numbers are up there. They want as much sex as possible and when the opportunity presents itself, they go with it, consequences be damned.
Now, as I've gotten older, I can attest to the women's side of things. I may not always have the time or energy for sex, but the thoughts are there more than they ever have been. (Like...it's unreal how often my thoughts turn to sex!) And from stories I've heard from friends, and friends of friends, that time period in a woman's life can also be a time where a high percentage stray from their partners. Whether that's from them just wanting it more or their men not being able to perform as they had in times past, or other factors, I don't know, but it happens.
Am I the only one who sees this? Doesn't this seem like some sort of cruel joke? How much better would our sex lives be if we hit these peaks around the same time? How many more relationships would remain committed and grow instead of being subjected to cheating and falling apart?
Maybe this isn't news to anyone, or maybe I'm completely off the mark here, but it was one of those random thoughts that I thought I would share. Am I crazy? Wait, we already know the answer to that. Does anyone else see what I'm talking about?
I think I'm rambling. Anyway, I thought I would share one of the many paths my thoughts travelled on this week. Agree? Disagree? Let me know!
Now, off to the hell of working when there's a deadline.
