Follow Me Down
Good morning, my Lovelies! How ya doin’? Me? Well, it is a hot and humid Thursday here on the eastern shore and hot and humid means that I’m freakin’ miserable. I don’t like hot. I don’t like humid. I belong where it never gets above 75 degrees. But, as that simply isn’t an option for me right now, I guess I’ll suffer along and complain like everyone else.
So, it occurs to me after speaking with some of you recently that there are still some of you under the misconception that I’m too sweet, too innocent, or too naive, to write smutty books. (By the way, I figured out finally that ‘smutty books’ is the best description for my writing. I’ll explain shortly.) Well, let me just go ahead and burst y’all’s little bubble – I’m not too naive, too innocent, to write smutty stories.
Although, yes, I’m sweet. (If you didn’t go where my mind went with that then maybe YOU are the one that is too naive and innocent.)
I assure you that my brain has slid down that stripper pole straight into the gutter for years and years, and the older I get the quicker the slide. I’ve become one of those people who can take almost any innocent statement and turn it dirty in a heartbeat.
Most often I keep those comments to myself unless I’m out with friends or having drinks…or out with friends having drinks. Then I’m likely to say anything at any time. I don’t hold back. Actually, about the only time I do hold back anymore is when I’m in my office and I have to act like I’m a professional. I’ve just reached the point where I no longer give a fuck about what I say. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to be around me, you don't have to listen to it, you don't have to read it.
Now, I will say that most of the time when I’m saying something that might be considered rude and crude, I’m usually saying it in such a way that the people around me laugh about it. I love to joke about sex and sexual things. Why? It's fun! And, well, because…sex is just funny. And why not laugh about it, right?
So, let me explain what I mean by ‘smutty books.’
There are books that are considered spicy books. These books contain little to no sexual scenes in them. There’s tension, there’s a slow burn, but you don’t get down to the nitty-gritty, or if you do, it is so mild that it simply makes you say, “Awe! They finally made love!”
There are books that are considered erotica. These books are almost all sex. There’s hardly any story. It’s just sex scene after sex scene - going at it from surface to surface, location to location, or position to position, from the beginning of the book to the end.
Then there are smutty books. With smutty books, you have equal parts story and sexual content.
I feel like smutty books are the best description of my books as I try to give you an amazing story loaded with sexual encounters. Now…if you’re looking for more of the erotica-type stories, I write those, too. I’ve just been putting them on my Patreon.
They’re intense, but they’re fun (think more BDSM types of stories). If you’re simply just looking for a quick story loaded with sex, that’s where you’re going to find them. I enjoy writing both, although I will say that the stories on my Patreon are definitely more adventurous and give me a chance to get some of the dirtiest of the dirty out of my head so that I can concentrate more on the stories I tell in my books.
And now that I'm adding some of my personal stories on my Patreon... Well, things are interesting, don't you think? Or, are you too afraid to follow me down that path?
So, to those of you who regularly read these types of stories/books, which do you prefer? Spicy? Smutty? Erotica? I would love to know!
Until next time, and as always,
