Crawling

Good afternoon, my Lovelies! I hope the sun is shining in your part of the world and that you are having a beautiful day! It is cold, rainy, and dreary here today and I'm feeling it. I want nothing more than to snuggle under the covers and hide until the sun appears, but no...I have to work. The good news is that I'm working from home today so at least I can be a bum and nobody is going to comment on it. Well, unless one of the cats decides to give me side-eye. We'll see.

How has my week been? I'm not sure I know where to begin. I suppose I should tell you that I'm still dealing with a major depressive episode. I know part of this is simply due to exhaustion. I cannot find the energy to do anything. Or, maybe my exhaustion is a direct symptom of my depression? Either way, it is a malicious fucking circle that I can't seem to break.

I constantly ask myself if I'm trying to do too much. My answer is always the same. Yes. Yes, I'm trying to do too much but I don't know how to do things any other way. It is what it is.

What else is going on? Well, the big kid is heading back to college this weekend. It has been so nice having them home, but I know they have to get back up there and get back at it. And even though I know it is necessary, it still makes me sad to see them go.

I've somehow injured both shoulders and am having trouble moving or sleeping without pain. I've been dealing with this for a few weeks and hoping that whatever I've done will start to heal, but I can see now that isn't going to happen without some help. So, I tried to get an appointment with my doctor. Please note that I said tried. There are no appointments. How the fuck do you not have ANY appointments? It doesn't have to be today or even this week, but NOTHING? Fuck. I suppose I'll just continue to struggle and toss back Advil like its candy. Maybe I need an adult gummy or two?

But here is the highlight of my week. Yesterday I woke to find that someone had been on my property and had stolen some of our stuff. And while it wasn't a bunch of things, they were quite valuable. So, yesterday started with a phone call to file a police report. Good times. Now I get to contact insurance to see if we can recover any of it. (I said highlight, but maybe that isn't the proper word.) Again, good times.

I'm desperately hoping that my weekend away next month puts me in a better frame of mind. I'm counting down the days. I have so much to do and deadlines to meet. Yes, I've put myself on a pretty tight schedule for my writing. I feel like I have to and for more than one reason, which I'll not go into right now to save my sanity, and yours.

For now, just know that I'm giving my all (or all that I can spare right now) to get new content out, and by that I mean, books, newsletters, social media posts, and of course my blog to all my lovely followers. Just a few announcements before I go...

1. I started a Discord. I still don't know why I did this, but I would love to have you join me so that I can actually chat with you all. The link to my server is on my linktree.

2. I'm working on designs for my merch store which I hope to have open on my website soon. If you have suggestions for things you would like to see or quotes from any of my books that you think would look great on that merch, let me know.

3. I have a release date for Logan's Flame! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we have a date! Cover design will be done at the end of February and the artist I'm working with for this series is just a beautiful person. I can't wait for you to see her work! As long as there are no unforeseen circumstances, Logan's Flame will be available on March 28th! I'm so excited!

I think (maybe) that is it for now. Y'all, I want to close this out by telling you all how very much I appreciate all of you. Your comments and encouragement are soul-fillers. Lately, I've needed to be filled up, to be topped off, and y'all have been there every step of the way.

Until next time and as always,

Much love from me to you!
