Rough and Ready

Good afternoon, my Lovelies!

How the hell are ya? Me? I'm alright. (Actually, I think I may be getting sick, but I'm not about manifesting that, so I'm going to tell you I'm just peachy and get on with things.) I really do hope you're well and that your dot on the map is a beautiful place today.

What shall we talk about? Well, I don't think (and correct me if I'm wrong) that I've ever talked in-depth with you about the type of man that draws me. My family says I have a type. My friends say I have a type.

They're correct. So what kind of man am I attracted to?

I may surprise you when I say that it isn't the physical part that draws me first. I mean, I appreciate men of all different body types. Do I really enjoy looking at muscular men with great physiques? Absolutely. Do I enjoy looking at a man with a dad bod? Yes. Yes, I do. Atheltic? Awesome. Body builder? That's great. Long and lean, short and stocky - it really doesn't matter that much to me.

So what are my big draws? Attitude. Confidence. Compassion. I enjoy being around men who are able to relax and be themselves no matter what situation they're put into. I like men who are manly but have a touch of sensitivity, too.

I like men who are a little crazy.

I like men who can make me blush.

I like men who can make me laugh.

And I love a man who is musical or has an obsession with music.

I grew up in rural western Kentucky. All the guys I grew up with spent their weekends on the lake fishing or going hunting. They all dipped or chewed tobacco - you learn quickly not to pick up a soda can and take a swig after hanging around these guys. (IYKYK) They listened to their music loudly and were most likely to get in trouble doing burnouts driving through town while trying to show out for some girl they were trying to impress.

These guys all drove pickup trucks, and when I was growing up, it wasn't uncommon at all to see them riding around with a gun rack in their back window. (Hunting was life.) I'm sure many people would call these guys rednecks or hicks - whatever. I still find them attractive because they are very down-to-earth people.

Does all this mean I don't like or can't appreciate a man who cleans up nicely? A man who can be just as comfortable at a fancy restaurant as he is going to a mom-and-pop diner in the middle of nowhere? Hell no! That is fucking awesome, too! And having a manly man who is willing to go that extra mile and dress up for something special? That is top tier.

I just love men in all their various forms, but having a man who is a little rough around the edges, one who is ready for anything at a moment's notice? There's just something about it that is a huge turn-on for me.

But to appease my family and friends, I will readily admit that I do, indeed have a type. What is that? Look at the covers of my books.

Maybe that tells you what you need to know, maybe it doesn't. If you find you want to ask me something specific about the type of man I'm attracted to, reach out! I love interacting with all of you and as I've said before, I try my hardest to be an open book.

Until next time and as always,

Much love and drooling over manly men from me to you,

Shelly (a/k/a Dawn Love)
