Find Out Who Your Friends Are

Good morning, my Lovelies! It is time once again for me to get a few thoughts out of my head (maybe more than a few) and I just know that each and every one of you is itching to hear what has been floating around up there. Well, maybe not, but y'all love me and will humor me anyway. I don't know if this blog will touch you in any way, will make you feel anything, but I know it will me. As most of you know, my father passed away a couple of weeks ago. Neither of my parents has been in particularly good health for quite some time now. And while nobody is ever prepared to lose a loved one, not really, I feel like I had thought about the inevitability enough that I'm handling it better than I thought I would. Oh, I still have my moments. Believe me when I say I miss my father, but he was in pain and had been in pain for a long time. Maybe it just eases my mind that he is no longer suffering? Maybe it eases my mind that I never had to put him in a nursing facility, which is one ...

Misery

Good evening, my Lovelies! Please forgive me. It has now been more than a month since I've released a new blog. If you follow me on social media then you know there have been some things happening in my family that have pulled me away from my home and my writing. But, I'm back. Or I'm sort of back. I'm working on it, okay? How have things been in your part of the world? I hope they have been fantastic and that life is treating you well! With all the chaos in my life lately, I find I'm ready to just let my hair down and have some fun. My birthday is this week and I had so many thoughts and ideas on how I wanted to celebrate this year that have now been thrown out the window. This is one of the big birthdays and I really wanted to get all my friends together and have a huge party. At one time, I had even considered trying to get all my loves together for a cruise to somewhere tropical. I'm still holding this idea in reserve for the future. I won't get to do an...

Going Under

Good morning, my Lovelies! I apologize for not blogging last week. As I told a friend this morning, the overwhelm is overwhelming right now. Work has been crazy, or crazier than usual, and is due to ramp up as we had an employee quit this week. This just makes for an awesome situation with the amount of scheduled travel I have on tap starting next month and ramping up next year. (No, they will not get someone hired into the position anytime soon.)  I have some family health issues that are constantly on my mind and they are slowly wearing me down mentally, physically, and emotionally. I'm horribly behind on what I want and need to do in the writing world. I feel as if I'm really letting my readers down and that is making me feel like shit. And I know, without a doubt all of my fans will tell me that my health and my family come first and I can't tell you how much I appreciate that, but it still breaks my heart that I haven't been able to produce for you all the way I wa...

Grit & Grace

Good morning, my Lovelies, and happy freakin' Wednesday! I hope this blog finds you healthy and happy and that this week is just rolling right along for you. Just to fill you in, if this blog goes sideways or seems completely weird, you can blame it on the adorable Charlie Gaddis. He's been giving me prompts the past couple of weeks to help my brain push out these blogs and his word for me this morning was "grit." Thanks, Charlie. As I told him, I love a challenge, and as it turns out this one isn't too bad. I feel as if I'm a strong person. I've been through some major shit in my life and I've shared quite a bit of that shit with all of you. Everything that I've experienced has made me the woman I am today. I've told you all of my struggles in my first marriage, the struggles in my current marriage, the struggles that I had growing up, and the struggles that I've had with my body. I've shared, shared, and over-shared, but for some reas...

Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off

Good afternoon, my Lovelies! Another week has passed and it's time for my weekly random thought purge otherwise known as my blog. Before I jump in with both feet, let me take just a moment to check in with you. You good? Life treating you well? I hope so! How am I? Well, I'm recovering from whatever upper respiratory crud is floating around out there. I'm seriously ready for it to be gone so that I feel normal again. (Or as normal as I ever feel...) I need to be better so I feel like getting some shit done. This having no energy thing is bringing me down.  I also need to get better so that I can have some time out with my girlies! Y'all know I love to have my nights out. I need those margarita nights! I need that time to step away from the day-to-day, to let my hair down, and to be a little wild and crazy. I think I've fully outgrown the need to get drunk off my ass, but I do still enjoy getting tipsy and sharing stories with my friends. Margaritas, shots, and talki...

Rough and Ready

Good afternoon, my Lovelies! How the hell are ya? Me? I'm alright. (Actually, I think I may be getting sick, but I'm not about manifesting that, so I'm going to tell you I'm just peachy and get on with things.) I really do hope you're well and that your dot on the map is a beautiful place today. What shall we talk about? Well, I don't think (and correct me if I'm wrong) that I've ever talked in-depth with you about the type of man that draws me. My family says I have a type. My friends say I have a type. They're correct. So what kind of man am I attracted to? I may surprise you when I say that it isn't the physical part that draws me first. I mean, I appreciate men of all different body types. Do I really enjoy looking at muscular men with great physiques? Absolutely. Do I enjoy looking at a man with a dad bod? Yes. Yes, I do. Atheltic? Awesome. Body builder? That's great. Long and lean, short and stocky - it really doesn't matter that mu...

Glory Days

Good morning, my Lovelies, and happy Tuesday! I'm not certain how we are already three days into this month, but here we are. I hope this blog finds you happy and healthy in your little corner of the world. Me? I suppose I'm doing well. I've just returned from my girls' trip weekend in the OuterBanks of North Carolina and while I had a great time and enjoyed my rest and relaxation with friends, I am definitely feeling it. Every year we go it seems our trip gets more and more tame. I think we've gone from "Mom's Gone Wild" to "Mom's Just Wanna Be Left Alone to Sit on the Sofa in Peace and Scroll Through Our Phones." The first year we were there we stayed drunk pretty much the entire time we were gone. Each year our level of drunkenness has decreased. We still have fun, but the alcohol is an extra instead of the main attraction.  Yes, I know that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's definitely making me feel old though. There was a t...

Just A Friend

Image
Good afternoon, my Lovelies! It's Friday and I'm so fucking ready for the weekend that I could cry. Actually, I'm ready for this time next week to be here already. Why is that? If you've been following me for a while you know that it is about that time of year. Yep! It's time for that annual girls' trip and I'm ready to hit the road! So... How ya doin'? Good? Awesome! Drink your water. Be sure to smile. And, for the hell of it, go do something completely unexpected. Surprise yourself and see how much fun you have! What are we going to talk about today? Oh, boy. Here we go. I am and have always been the person people confide in. I not only don't mind it, I thrive in that role. When people need a shoulder to cry on, I'm there. When they need to rant, rave, scream, and cry? They call me up to be their sounding board. When they're happy and need to share the joy in their hearts? I'm the one that gets the messages. And when they have some secr...

Love is Hell

Good afternoon, my Lovelies! I'm just going to skip all the how ya doin's and get right to this. I've been trying to work today. I need to be writing. I need to be editing. I need to be scheduling some content so that all my shit keeps getting pushed out there. (BTW, if you see ANYTHING I post, please like and/or comment to help push me with the algorithm.) But I can't seem to concentrate until I get this out of my head. I'm fairly certain that when everyone reads this they're either not going to believe me or think I'm over-exaggerating, but I've never lied to you and I won't start now. If your partner calls you a sweet nickname, you better eat that up. If your partner does little things for you without being asked, thank them and return the favor. If your partner treats you like a king/queen (in whatever way that applies to you), then you need to reciprocate. If your partner plans a night out - go. Enjoy. Be thankful and be the one who plans the ne...

Letter to Me (Episode 5)

Image
Good afternoon, my Lovelies! I come to you today from the exquisite shade of my front porch. It is absolutely beautiful here today and I couldn't resist the urge to load up all my equipment and park myself on my bench to do some work. I have my laptop, my phone, my various other accouterments that are necessary for my writing, and my Route 44 Diet Cherry Limeaid from Sonic. Life is good! If you've been following me for a while or if you've taken the plunge and gone back and read some of my old blogs, you will remember me doing a series called "Letter to Me" based off of the song by Brad Paisley. If you haven't read them, scroll on back and give them a looky-loo. They're honest. They're touching. They're eye-opening. (Wow, I can really talk myself up when I want to.) Most of all, they're a reminder to me to never take a single moment for granted, to never give up, and to seize the day because you never know what tomorrow might bring. (There'...
